Viburnum lantana is a species of Viburnum, a type of flowering shrub or small tree in the Adoxaceae family. It is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and is commonly known as Wayfaring Tree or the Traveller's Joy. It is a deciduous shrub, growing to 4-5 m tall, with a dense, spreading, rounded crown. The leaves are opposite, 3-8 cm.

It is more a shrub than tree that grows up to 15ft and almost exclusively on chalk or limestone. Its white flowers have a scent that divides opinion, lily-scented to some, unpleasant to others.

Viburnum lantana is a multistemmed spreading shrub growing 10 to 15 feet height, somewhat rounded outline. The foliage is dull dark green, a bit leatherey, with fine down on the undersides, fall color can be purplish, not reliable for fall color.
